It\u2019s Aronofsky\u2019s debut film; made for only $129,110. $68,183 of that totaL was spent on post-production; more than it cost to shoot. The film has a reputation of being a weird David Lynchian story, but it’s pretty simple to follow. The details are a little vague, but the character\u2019s story of obsession is clearly told. Let\u2019s restate our assumptions: 1. High contrast B&W is the language of independent film. 2. Everything around us can be represented & understood through film. 3.
