Ep. 171 – Children of Men

ChildrenofMen_Poster

Episode 171: The Crew’s wandering a world without children as they review, Children of Men. It’s a different kind of apocalyptic film; the world ends with a whimper, not a big budget bang. Director Alfonso Cuarón packs lots of social commentary (Immigration, Police State) in his world where women stop having babies, but don’t worry… it doesn’t get in the way of a great chase thriller. The film wasn’t a box office hit, but is now considered to be one of the greatest sci-fi films.

Episode 170: The Crew’s searching for Dryland while discussing The Most Expensive Movie Ever (in 1995), Waterworld. Regardless, the film is still a fun post-apocalyptic adventure. Yes… it’s Mad Max on water, but the world-building is well done. And the Atoll battle scene is jaw dropping, so many great stunts!
