The Werewolf transformation scene was so revolutionary the Academy created a Makeup category for Rick Baker’s work. Mr. Landis is known for his comedy films, and there’s lots of jokes in the film. But Landis is also considered a Master of Horror with only two horror films in his filmography (this and Innocent Blood). And that’s evidence of the lasting impact of this Werewolf classic.
